I'd advise that you enquire for hair & make-up as soon as you have secured your date to avoid potential disappointment. I typically secure bookings around 8 - 1 2 months in advance but sometimes earlier! However, I of course will accommodate bookings with less notice if I am available.
An ideal time to book your trial is 2/3 months before your wedding day. Most things would have been finalised by then including your dress and colour schemes which help visualise ideas. This also allows time to order a few last bits such as the correct shade of lipstick for touch ups and hair accessories.
I'd hold off until we meet each other at your trial unless you have something you absolutely know will work and wish to use, or you may find that what you've bought may not work well and end up wasting your money. I have a range of hair accessories we can try at the time of your trial. We can decide together what style of accessory works best with the style. The accessories I use are available to order and I can give you a discount code! However, no pressure to purchase what we've used at the trial.
Typically, a bridal hair and make-up trial will take 3-3.5 hours or 1.5/2 hours for hair OR make-up. All trials are held at my home in my studio. Trials take longer than on the day because this is all about taking time to understand your vision as well as getting to know you. We will be discussing the details, tweaking things if need be and trying hair accessories... and getting things perfect!
Absolutely! Please let me know in advance. If the styles are vastly different from one another, I will need to allow more time to try 2 different styles and the cost of this varies depending on how much more time I'll need.
All Bridal (and any other event) bookings are to be secured with a deposit which reserves the date exclusively for you, therefore I cannot guarantee I'll still be available for your wedding/booking if you had a trial before securing your date, which is why trials are offered after this. In the unlikely event you are unhappy after your trial, please let me know within 7 days of the trial and I will return the deposit back to you if you wish to cancel.
I typically allow 40/45 minutes per adult, per service (hair or makeup). For Bridal styles, I typically allow 1 hour per service. If I feel we need more time this will be discussed and agreed with you. I will create a time guide for your morning so you are clear on what time I need to start and when everything will be finished by.
This really depends on what time everything needs to be finished by and how early we can get started. In some cases, I cannot do everything myself in the time frame and would need to ask an additional artist or two to help with some services. I work with hand-picked, friendly artists who I trust fully, who work in the same industry as me and have a similar style. Everyone will be in good hands! Additional artists are charged at £50 each.
Of course! I also have regular electrical P.A.T testing done on all my equipment. Should your venue request this I am more than happy to send copies of my certificates.
I can travel further afield to your wedding/event!
Accommodation close to the wedding venue/getting ready location may be required the night before if the travel time is over 2 hours one way and if the start time is very early. All road travels to trials and the wedding/event day are charged at 0.55p per mile (round trip) and is worked out using the relevant postcode. If travelling over 50 miles away from my location, I charge 0.65p per mile thereafter.
This represents costs such as fuel and time spent travelling.
